Miriam has been privileged to perform with CHICO since its inception in 2004, both as a soloist and filling in on piano, celeste or harpsichord in the orchestra. Thanks to CHICO, Miriam also has an online presence, with two chamber concerts and a solo piano recital professionally recorded under CHICO auspices during the pandemic. In addition, Miriam has performed with the Ventura College Symphony and San Luis Obispo Chamber Orchestra, as well as in solo and collaborative performances at the Ojai Arts Centre, the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens summer series, and Ventura Music Festival. Miriam frequently plays for student recitals and school events such as Ventura High’s Talent Show and Ventura Unified’s Festival of Talent. Most recently, Miriam served as music director, pianist and conductor for Rubicon Theatre’s Summer 2023 youth production of Pippin. Miriam was the honored recipient of the 2014 Ventura Mayor’s Arts Award for Arts Educator. Miriam studied with the late, renowned pianist Sofia Cosma, as well as with Tibor Szasz and Loren Withers of Duke University, and Halimah Brugger.
