Meet Our Haydn Quartet

Sharon Cooper, violinist and violist, is an active freelance musician in southern and central California.  She started lessons at age 7, studied chamber music at San Francisco Conservatory, and holds a BA degree in Music from Stanford University. She has performed throughout the US West Coast, Arizona, Europe, and Australia in numerous recitals, chamber ensembles, theater productions, orchestras, and civic events.  Sharon has performed solo works with symphonies including Moorpark, Valley (LA), New Valley, and Antelope Valley.  She has also been featured soloist with the Channel Islands and Palo Alto chamber orchestras, Lompoc Pops, Ventura Baroque, Santa Maria Philharmonic, Symphony of the Canyons, Junior Bach Festival (Berkeley), and on KQED Public Television in San Francisco.  Concert series showcasing Sharon's solo and chamber recitals included the Mt. Cross (Camarillo), St. Patrick's (Thousand Oaks), Ojai Art Centre, Lompoc Music Association, Moorpark Orchestra Chamber Series, and the Beethoven Festival (Santa Barbara).  In addition to being a co-concertmaster of Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra (CHICO), she is regularly concertmaster of 5-Star Theatricals (Thousand Oaks), Lompoc Pops Orchestra, and Moorpark Symphony.  Her solo violin has been heard emanating from theater pits in Ventura, LA, Santa Barbara, and Orange counties as well as Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.

John Fare’s life in music began with a chance mid-year opportunity to join the orchestra at his elementary school in Abilene, Texas. After a nurturing path through the public schools, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Texas Tech University, followed by professional positions with the North Carolina Symphony and the Denver Symphony. John moved to California in 1974, where he received a Master’s Degree at USC, and began to perform for movies, television, audio recording, musical theater, and orchestral concerts including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Pasadena Symphony. Along the way, he performed live with the Eagles, at the Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy Awards, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and was on camera for movies, TV shows, and commercials.  

Kimaree Gilad, oboist, soloist, recording artist, festival artist, and recitalist, is Oboe Faculty at CSU Northridge and Ventura College. Her orchestral performing career includes being a member and featured soloist of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra from 1983-2013, press applauding “lyrical melodies with velvety sounds”. She has performed with renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Ms. Gilad’s recordings span orchestral, chamber, film, and contemporary music. She was part of the Grammy Award-winning recording of Penderecki’s Credo. Motion picture recordings include the Matrix movies. In the Festpel in Piteo, Sweden, she was hailed as “the highlight of the program.”

Cavit Celâyir-Monezis graduated from UCLA with a degree in bassoon performance, and has studied with Charles Coker, Jack Marsh, Norman Herzberg, and Andy Radford. After graduating, he worked with the woodwind chamber ensembles at UCLA, and currently coaches woodwind, brass, and chamber ensembles for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Cavit also enjoys playing woodwinds for musical theatre productions throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura areas. Cavit is a composer and arranger and has had compositions performed at UCLA, the Shrine Auditorium, Santa Monica College, Moorpark College, and the California Junior Philharmonic. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, Santa Monica College, Ventura Baroque, California Junior Philharmonic, and the Goethe-Institut. Cavit started performing with the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra in 2003.
