Flutist, Scott Quirk, currently studies with Jim Walker at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts. He has participated in groups such as the California All-State Honor Band, the Ventura County High School Honor Band, Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra 2 (NYO2), and the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Honor Concert Band. Scott has been a previous member of the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras and is a current member of the Colburn Youth Orchestra.
Most recently, Quirk has been named a Merit Winner in the National Young Arts Foundation, a first place winner of the Classics Alive Young Artist Competition, Division B, and a winner of the 2017 Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra Youth Soloist Competition. When he is not playing the flute, Scott loves to be with friends, go on long walks, and maintains a private flute studio out of his home in Southern California.
Scott is appearing with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra in two performances of the Ibert Flute concerto.
