Samuel Wu is a third-grader who loves to play the piano. He is eight years old and began studying piano with Daniel Newman-Lessler when he was four. Samuel has participated in numerous music festivals organized by the Music Teachers Association of California Pleasant Valley-Ventura County Branch, consistently winning gold medals for his performances. He particularly enjoys performing the music of Bach, Schumann, Bartok, and Gubaidulina. Samuel has sung in the Pleasant Valley School District Chorus and is also studying Chinese. He is very grateful to the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra and Dr. Liu for the amazing opportunity to perform Franz Joseph Haydn’s Divertimento in C Major with a full professional orchestra.
Samuel is appearing with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra in two performances of J Haydn’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
