Peiming (Bruno) Yang (15) was born in Shanghai, China and began studying piano at the age of 4. He moved to the United States in 2015 and is currently continuing his musical studies under the instruction of Dr. Jeong-ah Ryu. Since coming to the US, he has won multiple awards in various competitions including District I Regional Southern Junior Bach Festival, Pleasant Valley-Ventura County Branch Bach Festival, MTAC Branch Competition, and Holiday Festival. He was given an opportunity to work in a masterclass with Dr. James Lent of UCLA as one of a select few student representatives from the MTAC PV-VC branch. Most recently, Bruno was selected as one of the winners of the Channel Island Chamber Orchestra Young Artists Live Audition.
Bruno currently attends Westlake High School and has great interest in taekwondo (in which he has achieved a black belt) and chess; he has also won several awards including “American Open Scholastic” and “Super States.”
Bruno is appearing with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra in two performances of J Haydn’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
