Patricia Lathrop-McPherson

Patricia Lathrop-McPherson attended Brigham Young University and studied voice there and was a member of BYU Singers under the direction of Dr. Ronald Staheli.  She studied with Linda Ottsen and most recently Victoria Hart.  She has performed in over 40 productions with various opera companies, music festivals and musical theatre organizations.  Regionally she has appeared with New West Symphony, Ojai Music Festival, Ventura County Gilbert & Sullivan Repertoire Company, Cabrillo Music Theater, and CHICO. Recently she performed Schubert’s “Shepherd on the Rock” and Saint-Saens’ St. Cecelia’s Mass.  Roles she has performed include Konigin der Nacht in Die Zaubeflote; Frasquita in Carmen; Laurie in Oklahoma; Laurie in The Tender Land, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance; Josephine in HMS Pinafore, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Casilda in The Gondoliers; Elsie in Yeoman of the Guard, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors; Anita in West Side Story; Adina in L’elisir d’amore and Julie in Carousel.  Oratorio solo work includes, Handel’s Messiah; Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio, Mozart’s Requiem, Missa Brevis, Credo, Exsultate Jubiliate; Rutter’s Requiem; Vivaldi’s Gloria, Magnificat, & Te Deum; Pergolesi Stabat Mater and Stravinsky’s Mass.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and has been married for 28 years to Don, recently retired Fire Chief of Ventura City. She serves on the Board of Directors for Ventura Music Festival and is very happy to be singing with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra.
