Virtuoso Series

Steve Marsh will be starting off our Virtuoso Series with Tableaux de Provenceby Paule Maurice and “The Old Castle” from Pictures at an Exhibitionby M. Mussorgsky. He will be accompanied on the piano by his wife, Saiko Fujii. Steve performs on saxophones and other woodwind instruments, and he has taught music courses at CSUCI since 2011. He has performed with many well-known artists such as Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Johnny Mathis, and Paul Anka as well as several movie soundtracks. In addition to numerous American tours, Steve has performed in Japan, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, the UK and Mexico. Release date November 13, 2020

Miriam Arichea brings to life a beautiful performance of a multi-ethnic program, including works by Beethoven (German) and Villa-Lobos (Brazilian), Copland (American) and Coleridge Taylor (Anglo-African), encompassing a rich variety of musical genres. This event will be live-streamed. Miriam debuted at the inaugural CHICO concert in 2004, and has been a part of CHICO – both as a piano soloist and as a board member since. Miriam also performs regularly with the Ventura College Symphony, the Singer Chamber Trio, and various other instrumentalists and vocalists. Release Date November 27, 2020

Julia Metzler and Joseph Lopez Stream operatic love right into your home! Two brilliant young singers will interpret the most enduring romantic arias just for you. Julia is a Los Angeles-based soprano and is an active up-and-coming opera singer and concert soloist. As a roster member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Ms. Metzler can frequently be heard performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.

JJ Lopez has performed as a featured soloist at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Handel’s Messiah and Bruckner’s Great Mass. He has been a principal artist with the Los Angeles Opera Education program and had his L.A. Opera main stage debut in 2019 in El gato montés starring Plácido Domingo. JJ is a member of the L.A. Opera Chorus as well as the L.A. Master Chorale where he performs regularly at the Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl with the L.A. Philharmonic. Release date December 18, 2020

Whether it’s at the podium or on the bench, Tyler Carlisle loves to engage his audience and enjoy a spectacular, musical evening. Working in both sacred music and academics, Tyler presents the emotionally personal side to music as well as the historical power. He has performed on the great cathedral organs of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands as well as toured with choruses throughout the United States and Europe. As Director of Music Ministry & Organist at First United Methodist Church in Ventura, Tyler has collaborated with some of the most gifted musicians and overseen many exciting projects. Soon, First United Methodist Church will house a brand new hybrid pipe organ. With its incredible size and modern technology, the organ will be the premier instrument for both sacred and secular. Tyler equally takes pleasure in directing the Chancel Choir at First United Methodist and owns Carlisle Music Studio in Camarillo. Sharing his love of music, whether performing or creating that opportunity for others, is Tyler’s passion in life and true blessing. Release Date TBD
