A Jazzy Jolly Holiday with Miriam Arichea and the Harmonix (past performance)

Performances were held in Camarillo, on Nov 19, at 7 PM at Rancho Campana Performing Arts Center and  Nov 20, 3 PM, in Ventura at First United Methodist Church.

Pianist Miriam Arichea performed Nikolai Kapustin’s Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra (1972).

Kapustin is a Russian composer and pianist who, during the 1950s, worked as a jazz pianist and trained as a classical pianist. His compositions are a fusion of jazz and classical music.

Harmonix is a talented group of teenagers affiliated with Rubicon Theater’s Education and Outreach program. They performed Angels’ Carol and What Sweeter Music by John Rutter, Promise of Light by Georgia Sitt and A Rubicon Family Christmas, arranged by CHICO orchestra member Cavit Celayir-Monezis. The individual members are: Daniel Brackett, Lexie Collins, Riley Conrad, Cassidy Craig, Madeline Gambon, Gus Graham, Jesse Graham, Sarah Mehrnia and Nico Wicklin.
